At Tall Oaks Academy, we foster high aspirations for children in care and previously looked after, ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to succeed, fulfil their potential and strive for excellence.
The Designated Teacher (see photos above) advocates for the educational achievement and pastoral welfare of Looked After and Previously Looked After Children in our school community. We provide a stable, supportive environment that promotes their academic, social and emotional development, and ensure staff are trained to understand and respond sensitively to the barriers they may face.
Our Designated Teachers liaise with the relevant professionals, carers and school staff to create a personal education plan, review progress and consider any additional support that the children may need.
