Holly Anderson
Responsible for Safeguarding, Chair & Finance
My name is Holly and I am the Chair of Governors at Castle Wood Academy.
I have been a Parent Governor since December 2017. I have been delegated the responsibility of Curriculum, Standards and Outcomes, and more recently Safeguarding.
For the past 15 years, I have been a Primary School Teacher, working in our local community. I have worked across many roles and had various responsibilities. My background in education has given me the understanding to assist Castle Wood Academy in moving forward, but also to challenge, so that we have the best possible academic and personal outcomes for all our children.
It is my belief that education works best when the school works together with parents and carers and I endeavour to support the school in building those strong partnerships for the good of the children. With this in mind, I am always keen to share positive feedback or raise concerns to ensure we can best support our pupils and families, so please do come and talk to me if there is anything you would like to discuss.
Responsible for Sports & Pupil Premium Funding
My name is Sarah Moss, and I am the staff governor at Castle Wood Academy and have been a member of the Local Governing Body since June 2022. I have been delegated the responsibility of SEND and as staff governor, I share the views and where appropriate, the concerns of staff and act as a conduit between staff and the governing body.
This academic year was the start of my 15th year working in education. I have held various posts in a variety of educational settings in West Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and I currently work and reside in West Lindsey and have been a member of the Castle Wood Academy community for 5 years. I am currently one of two Year 2 teachers and I am awaiting accreditation for the Senior Mental Health Lead training that I completed in June last year.
I have been proudly teaching for 6 years and I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to work with our wonderful pupils and amazing staff. I am a passionate champion of the importance of mental health and well-being for pupils and adults, and I have been responsible for leading Personal, Social, Economic and Health education at Castle Wood for the last 3 years. As a teacher, I feel rewarded by my governor role as the pupils at Castle Wood Academy deserve nothing but the best that we can give.
